McK’s Private Advisory was developed from a specific observation about the private wealth industry. As firms have advanced operationally, differences in capability have narrowed. Investment access, planning sophistication, and service standards have improved across the industry, particularly among established wealth firms. Yet institutional development has not progressed at the same pace. Many firms continue to rely on individual advisor relationships to carry trust, while the institution itself remains only partially defined.
As firms grow, this creates increasing dependence on individuals rather than on the strength of the organisation. McK’s was established to address this imbalance — working with leadership teams to deliberately design and govern the institution itself as a strategic asset.
